I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, and families on a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life-transitions, spirituality, and ADHD. I specialize in working with children and their families as they navigate through the toddler and early childhood stages. I offer PCIT to families who are looking for help during this stage. I have also specialized in working with children and adolescents individually. I work with children experiencing anxiety, guilt, anger, and transitioning through a parent’s divorce. I work with adolescents as they begin to discover who they are and step into adulthood. Finally, I am also experienced in working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and helping them discover answers to their questions.
I approach therapy from a holistic perspective, believing the body, mind, and spirit are important to address in order to find healing. I practice out of a CBT and Psychodynamic perspective while working with adolescents and adults. I also utilize modalities from ACT and IFS. With children and families, I use play therapy techniques, Behavioral Therapy, and PCIT.
My goal is to help each individual and family to achieve their goals in therapy. I identify as a Christian but I recognize that many people have different beliefs, backgrounds, and experiences than me. I strive to incorporate into therapy what is important to each of my clients as they make therapy their own.View Julia's Psychology Today Profile Learn more about Parent Child Interaction Therapy
