Rebekah Doreau

M.A., LPC-MHSP

I specialize in grief, loss and relationship problems. I strive to provide an encouraging and safe place where people can work through hurts in their hearts, relationships and situations and move toward freedom to enjoy life and create a hope-filled future.

Prior to joining Journey, I provided counseling to children and families who experienced trauma in New England and Chattanooga. I also worked at Focus Healthcare in the inpatient and IOP programs and the Children’s Advocacy Center. My strengths-based compassionate approach to my work comes not only from training and professional experiences but also from walking through personal grief and loss.

I primarily work from relational, narrative and cognitive behavioral approaches. I love integrating new techniques from continuing education and is currently in the couples development training program.

I help individual adults with grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, and boundaries/codependency. I help couples with communication issues, pregnancy, grief and loss, and other emotional/relational issues. I also help adolescents/teens ages 12 and up with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I especially enjoy being able to integrate the language of faith/spirituality in thoughtful, respectful ways with clients who desire it. I have specialized training in Trauma Focused-CBT for trauma processing in adolescents/teens and advanced training in the couples development model.
